Not every demolition is a whole house. Sometimes it’s the detached garage that’s been leaning a little more every year, the shed the last owner filled and forgot, or the barn that stopped being weathertight a decade ago. Small structures are fast work for the right crew — most come down, get loaded, and leave the property in a single day.

Small Structures We Demolish

Detached garages — leaning, rotted, storm-damaged, or just in the way of your addition or new slab. Single-car, two-car, with or without old concrete removed along with it.

Sheds and outbuildings — metal, wood, or plastic; standing or already half-collapsed. Contents hauled too, if you want them gone.

Barns and farm structures — pole barns, old stables, and outbuildings on rural Hinds, Rankin, and Madison County properties. Salvageable barn wood and metal roofing can factor into the job — ask.

Carports and awnings — metal carports, attached awnings, and patio covers unbolted, cut down, and hauled.

Decks, porches, and fences — rotted decks, failing porches, and fence lines cleared as standalone jobs or alongside a bigger project.

Fire-damaged and storm-damaged accessory structures — documented for your insurance claim where needed.

How Small-Structure Demolition Works

1. Fast quote. For most garages, sheds, and barns, a few photos and the address get us most of the way — we confirm on site and the quote covers the full job: teardown, haul-off, and cleanup.

2. Utility check. Detached garages and barns often have power run to them — sometimes water too. Lines get safely disconnected before teardown. If your garage has a panel or the barn has a well line, tell us up front.

3. Permit check. Some metro jurisdictions require permits for accessory-structure demolition, some don’t. We know which is which and handle it when it’s needed.

4. Teardown and haul-off. Most small structures are down and loaded within a day. Metal gets separated for recycling; the rest goes to a permitted facility.

5. Cleanup. Slab removed or left per your plans, nails and debris policed up, site raked clean. If a new structure is going in the same spot, we’ll leave the site how your builder wants it.

What Affects the Cost?

Same rule as every job we do: no blind quotes, because the details matter. For small structures: size and construction type, contents that need hauling, whether the slab goes too, attached utilities, and access — a backyard shed behind a narrow gate is a different job than a barn in an open field. Photos plus an address gets you a fast, real number.

FAQs

Can you take the contents too, or do I need to empty it first?
We can haul contents as part of the job — just tell us so it’s in the quote. Plenty of sheds get demolished full.

My garage is leaning against the neighbor’s fence. Can you still take it down?
Yes — controlled dismantling near property lines and structures is normal work. We protect the fence and whatever else borders the teardown.

Is old barn wood worth anything?
Sometimes. Weathered barn wood and old-growth lumber have salvage markets, and reclaimed value can factor into the job. It depends on condition — ask when you call.

Do I need a permit to tear down my own shed?
Depends on the jurisdiction and the structure. We’ll tell you straight when we quote, and if a permit’s needed we pull it.

Can you pour a new slab after removing the old garage?
We handle demolition and site prep; for new concrete we’ll leave the site ready for your concrete contractor and coordinate with them directly.
